Interim Executive is a boutique consulting firm formed with the purpose of meeting the short-term executive and senior management needs of local agencies and jurisdictions. Whether it be short-term executive coverage, representation in negotiation, a special project requiring senior-level attention, or leadership training and development, Interim Executive has the experience to provide your organization with a full range of services and success.
Interim Executive principal Philip Lanzafame brings over 30 years of public sector experience, with more than half that time as an executive, in small and mid-sized city organizations. He has represented local jurisdictions in major real estate transactions and economic development projects, helped elected officials develop public policy and legislation and arranged financing for numerous public facilities and infrastructure. He has held senior level management positions in community redevelopment and economic development. Lanzafame was a member of a collaborative and innovative executive team for more than 17 years overseeing a range of disciplines including Building & Safety, Code Enforcement, Development Concierge, Economic Development, Housing, Planning and Community Redevelopment.
Prior to public service, Lanzafame worked in the private sector holding posts in sales, investment securities and financial planning. He is a frequent lecturer and author of The Effect of the Built Environment on Community, a comparison study of the effect development has on one’s sense of community.
Interim Executive, Inc. is structured to offer service either as an independent contractor or part-time employee (retired annuitant for CalPERS organizations) for any assignment.
